Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 7, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Sleep History App ("Sleep History," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Sleep History iPhone app, the website at sleephistory.app, and related services.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of information in connection with providing the app:

  • Account information. If you create or use an account through Supabase Auth, we may collect your email address, authentication identifiers, and related account metadata.
  • Listening history and progress. We store data such as episode progress, completion state, favorites, listening streaks, total listening time, and related in-app activity in our Supabase database so your experience can persist across sessions and devices.
  • Analytics events. We use PostHog to collect product analytics such as screen views, usage patterns, feature engagement, playback activity, search activity, timer usage, speed changes, onboarding completion, paywall views, sharing activity, and download starts.
  • Purchase and subscription data. We use RevenueCat and Apple to manage subscriptions, purchase status, entitlements, restore events, and plan information.
  • Device and app information. Analytics and service providers may collect technical details such as device type, operating system version, app version, and similar diagnostic or usage-related metadata.

2. How We Use Data

We use this information to authenticate users, save progress, personalize the in-app experience, measure engagement, improve app performance and features, manage subscriptions, restore purchases, respond to support requests, detect misuse, and keep Sleep History secure and reliable.

3. How Data Is Stored and Processed

Supabase. We use Supabase for authentication and for storing core user data, including account records, listening progress, favorites, and usage statistics. That information is hosted on Supabase-managed cloud infrastructure in the project region we configure and may be processed by Supabase and its subprocessors where they operate. We generally retain Supabase-based account and user data while your account is active and afterward for a reasonable period as needed to operate the service, maintain backups, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, unless we can honor a deletion request sooner.

PostHog. We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog receives screen views, feature engagement, and app usage events so we can understand how Sleep History is used and where we should improve it. We use analytics in aggregate and pseudonymous form where possible, and we do not use PostHog for advertising identifiers or ad targeting. Analytics data is retained under our configured PostHog retention settings and legitimate business needs, and may be deleted or de-identified earlier where practicable.

RevenueCat and Apple. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. RevenueCat helps us manage offerings, receipts, subscription status, entitlements, renewals, and restores. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple. RevenueCat and Apple retain transaction and subscription records under their own legal, operational, and financial retention requirements.

4. Third-Party Services

Sleep History currently relies on the following third-party services:

  • Supabase for authentication and cloud-hosted user data
  • PostHog for analytics, screen views, and product usage measurement
  • RevenueCat for subscription management and entitlement handling
  • Apple / App Store for billing, subscription purchases, and app distribution

5. No IDFA or Advertising Tracking

Sleep History does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), does not use ad networks for behavioral advertising, and does not track you across apps or websites for targeted advertising.

6. User Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal information, a copy or export of the data we hold about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of your account and associated data, or an opt-out from product analytics associated with your account where we can reasonably support that request. To make a privacy request, email [email protected].

7. Children's Privacy

Sleep History is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will review the request and take appropriate action.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version at sleephistory.app/privacy, revise the effective date above, and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the app or website.

9. Contact

For privacy questions, data requests, or other inquiries about this Privacy Policy, contact [email protected].
